Former Virginia Tech catcher Wyatt Toregas was called up to the big leagues Friday by the Cleveland Indians. Toregas joins pitcher Joe Saunders as the only two Hokies in the big show right now. The two played at Tech together in the early 2000s. Toregas, from Ashburn, Va., was selected to the AAA All-Star Game after starring for the Columbus Clippers the first half of the season. He hit .284 with seven home runs and 29 RBI this year. Room was made on the 25-man roster when the Indians traded catcher Victor Martinez. Toregas was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 24th round of the June 2004 First-Year Player Draft.
