COLLEGE STATION, Texas- The Virginia Tech men’s swimming and diving team competed in the second day of competition at the NCAA Championships in College Station, Texas. Freshman Charlie Higgins raced in the 100 back, while junior Mikey McDonald took part in the 3-meter dive. Texas leads with 348 points at the championships.
In the preliminary round in the 100 back, Higgins posted the 20th best time, touching in at 47.02. The freshman will take part in the 200 back in the final day of action at the NCAA Championships on Saturday.
McDonald, who scored three points for Tech in the 1-meter dive yesterday, posted a score of 371.50 in the consolation final, bettering his preliminary score of 364.45. The junior tied for the 15th best score at the meet.
