Hokies signing class earns national ranking

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech women’s basketball program’s early signing class has been ranked No. 28 nationally by HoopGurlz.com. Tech’s 2010 signing class includes three players in the ESPN 100 who are joined by two other solid performers.

The class includes ESPN 100 members Monet Tellier, rated No. 54 overall nationally and No. 14 among shooting guards, along with Latorri Hines-Allen, rated No. 88 overall in the nation and No. 16 among forwards and Nia Evans, No. 97 overall and No. 19 among forwards. They are joined by Brittni Montgomery, ranked as the No. 31 power forward nationally and Kyani White, a first-team Virginia All-State selection.

Tech (5-3) returns to action Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. when the Hokies face Mount St. Mary’s. The contest will be followed by the Tech men battling VMI.
