In conjunction with the Student Government Association’s Hokies on Fire, the Virginia Tech men’s and women’s basketball teams encourage fans to “Prepare for the Calm Before the Storm” by participating in the Inaugural Maroon Monsoon games. Official Maroon Monsoon t-shirts will be given away free to early arriving fans in Cassell Coliseum on each game day. The women will hold their Maroon Monsoon game when they host the Michigan Wolverines as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Thursday, December 3rd at 7pm. The first 1,500 fans will receive a free Maroon Monsoon Shirt and the first 250 students will receive a VT Cap. The men will hold their game, following the women’s game versus N.C. Central, on Sunday, December 6th at 3:30pm as they host the Georgia Bulldogs. The first 1,500 fans will receive a free Maroon Monsoon shirt and all Virginia Tech students in attendance will receive a shirt.
In addition, both games are Montgomery County Christmas Store Nights and fans can bring a new, unwrapped toy to the game and receive a ticket voucher good for a free ticket to a future women’s basketball game this season. Help us bring joy to those less fortunate this holiday season in our community. A special holiday HokieBird will also be on hand for fans to take their picture with for free prior to both games on the concourse.
Individual tickets for the women’s game are $8 for adults and $3 for children and can be purchased on day of game at the Coliseum Ticket Office. Approximately 100 tickets remain for the men’s game and can be purchased online at www.hokietickets.com, by calling 1-800-VATECH4 or on day of game, if remaining, at the Coliseum Ticket Office.
