Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech men’s and women’s track and field squads will host six home indoor meets in 2010 and will compete in several prominent meets during the outdoor season, as Tech announced the 2010 track and field schedule on Friday.
The Hokies will open the 2010 campaign by hosting the Virginia Tech Invitational on Jan. 15-16. They will also host the Hokie Invitational on Jan. 22-23, the VT Elite Meet on Feb. 5-6 and the Virginia Tech Challenge on Feb. 19-20. For the second straight season, the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held in Blacksburg, set for Feb. 25-27. Tech will conclude its home schedule with the Final Qualifier on March 6, before heading to Fayetteville, Ark., for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 12-13. All home meets will be held in Rector Field House.
Tech will compete in seven outdoor meets, including the prestigious Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., on April 9-10, before the ACC Championships on April 15-17 in Clemson, S.C. The NCAA East Regional will take place on May 27-29 in Greensboro, N.C., and the NCAA Outdoor Championships will be held in Eugene, Ore., on June 9-12.
