EUGENE, Ore. – Rising senior Kristi Castlin wrapped up the U.S. Track and Field Championships with a 10th-place showing in the semis of the women’s 100-meter hurdles on Saturday in Eugene, Ore.
The Douglasville, Ga., native clocked a 13.10 to place 10th in the semis, just missing the cut for the finals in the event. The top eight competitors advanced to the finals in the 100-meter hurdles. Castlin ran a 12.99 in the prelims of the event on Saturday, to move onto the semis.
Castlin’s race wraps up Tech’s U.S. Track and Field Championships. Rising sophomore Keith Ricks highlighted the meet with a runner-up effort in the junior men’s 200-meter dash on Saturday. With the finish, Ricks qualified for the Junior Pan-American Championships in Port of Spain, Trinidad on July 31-Aug. 2. Rising senior Asia Washington and former Hokie Brian Mondschein also competed well in the women’s 400-meter hurdles and the men’s pole vault, respectively, at the meet.
