Nonn earns Freshman All-America honors

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech freshman midfielder Jessica Nonn has been named to the 2009 womenslacrosse.com All-Rookie team as announced by the publication on Tuesday. Each year the staff at womenslacrosse.com releases post-season honors for all three divisions, including three All-America teams along with Attack, Midfielder, Defender, Goalkeeper, Coach and Unsung Player of the Year in addition to the Rookie Team.

Nonn was selected for the All-Rookie squad after scoring 33 goals this past season, the third-highest total for a rookie in Tech history. Her presence was also felt on the defensive end as the freshman led the Hokies in ground balls (52) and caused turnovers (28), while coming in third on the team with 33 draw controls.
