Tech runners just miss cut for Junior Worlds

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Virginia Tech runners Eddie Judge and Ryan Witt placed fourth and sixth, respectively, on Sunday in the 1,500 meters at the USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Both rising sophomores, Judge (Virginia Beach, Va.) finished in 3:51.77, while Witt (Winchester, Va.) completed the race in 3:52.95. The top two finishers in each event will represent Team USA at the World Junior Championships in Poland July 8-13.

Each advanced to Sunday's final after solid performances in the preliminaries on Friday, when Witt placed fourth in 3:52.84 and Judge took 11th in 3:55.79.
