NCAA ChampionshipsFull Results DES MOINES, Iowa - Virginia Tech throwers Justin Clickett and Brittany Pryor wrapped up the Hokie track and field team's season on Saturday by competing in the shot put events at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Drake Stadium.
Clickett (r-Sr., Union City, Pa.) became the seventh Hokie to collect All-America honors by finishing sixth in the men's flight with a toss of 60 feet, 9.25 inches (18.52 meters). It was the fourth All-America performance of Clickett's career, and he advanced to the nationals after the winning the event at the NCAA East Regional. His sixth-place finish earned three points for the Tech men's team, giving the Hokies a final total of 13.33 points that earned them a 20th-place team ranking.
Pryor (r-Jr., Niagara Falls, N.Y.), who earned All-America honors on Friday with a seventh-place finish in the hammer throw, placed 11th in the shot put event on Saturday with a heave of 51-6.25 (15.70 meters). The Virginia Tech women concluded the meet with eight team points and in a 31st-place tie with 10 other teams.
LSU captured the women's team championship with 67 points, while Florida State won the men's crown with 52 points.
