H2Okie men and women ranked in the top-30 in final poll of the year

The College Swim Coaches Association of America released its final dual meet rankings for the 2007-2008 season earlier this week. The Virginia Tech women's swimming and diving team conclude the year at No. 25, while the men finish at No. 29.

Both teams are not finished with the season though as six divers will represent Tech at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships (March 14-16) in Auburn, Ala., for the opportunity to advance to the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Jessica Botzum, Jordan McHorney, Megan Newell, Sara Smith and Kaan Tayla have all automatically qualified for the NCAAs. Those on the squad who met the NCAA 'B' standard in their respective events are still waiting to find out if their times are ranked high enough to advance.
