Hokies to host UAB in NIT second round

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The National Invitation Tournament has announced that Virginia Tech will host the University of Alabama at Birmingham in a second round NIT game on Monday, March 24 at 9 p.m. in Cassell Coliseum. The game will be televised live by ESPN.

The Hokies, the top seed in their bracket, advanced to the second round with a 94-62 victory over eighth-seed Morgan State on Wednesday night in Cassell Coliseum. UAB, the fifth-seed, advanced with a 80-77 victory over fourth-seed Virginia Commonwealth in Richmond on Wednesday night.
