Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech men’s and women’s track and field squads released their 2008-09 schedule the Virginia Tech Athletics Department announced on Friday`. The 2008-09 slate features six home meets at the Rector Field House, including playing host to the ACC Championships on Feb. 26-28.
Six of the Hokies’ nine indoor meets this season will be held at Rector Field House. Tech’s indoor season will kick off with the Virginia Tech Invitational on Jan. 9 and 10. Along with the Virginia Tech Invitational and the conference meet, Tech will also host the VT Hokie Invitational, the VT Elite Meet, the VT Challenge and the Final Qualifier, the last tune-up for the Hokies before the NCAA Indoor Championships in College Station, Texas on March 13 and 14.
Tech will open the outdoor season with the Miami Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla. The Hokies’ outdoor competition continues with the Raleigh Relays, the Weems Baskins Relays, the Texas Relays, the Duke Invitational and the Sea Ray Relays, before returning to Miami for the ACC Championships April 16-18. The NCAA Southeast Regional will be held in Greensboro, N.C. on May 29 and 30, while the NCAA Outdoor Championships will take place in Fayetteville, Ark. June 10-13.
