White takes 2-0 lead in Fall World Series

Team White scored five runs in the bottom of the sixthinning to turn a one-run deficit into a four-run bulge, earning a 9-5 win overTeam Orange in the process to take a 2-0 lead in the Hokie Fall World Series atEnglish Field on Sunday afternoon.

 

Nate Clark went 3-for-4 for the White, while Klint Reed andChris Kay each registered three RBIs to give pitcher Brandon Fisher the win.Buddy Sosnoskie had a home run for the Orangeas part of a 2-for-4, three-RBI effort. Mathew Price took the loss on themound, though just one of his five runs was earned.

 

Game three of the series takes place at 6 p.m. on Monday,and admission is free. To claim the series win, Team Orange must out-score TeamWhite by 15 runs, as the combined run differential in the White’s two wins was14.
