BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Two members of the Virginia Tech men's tennis team have been named to the University Division All-State Men's Tennis team. The team is selected by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).
Albert Larregola (Sr., Lleida, Spain) was named to the first team after completing an outstanding career by advancing to the second round of the NCAA Singles Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Larregola ended the year with a No. 44 national singles ranking and No. 6 in the Mideast region after posting 28-15 record at the No. 1 position. He completed his career with 84 singles wins and was an All-ACC selection.
Nicolas Delgado de Robles (Jr., Madrid, Spain) was a second team selection following a 24-13 campaign playing primarily at the No. 2 position. Delgado de Robles ended the season ranked No. 23 in the Mideast region and also posted 17 doubles victories during the year.
Larregola and Delgado de Robles played key roles in leading Tech to a 16-9 overall record and a second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championships. The Hokies ended the year with a No. 28 national ranking.
