MAC Hermann Trophy awarded Friday night on ESPNews

The MAC Hermann Trophy will be presented to the top player in college soccer by the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Mo., during a formal presentation at 7 p.m. on Friday. The announcement will be carried live on ESPNews.

Virginia Tech All-American and three-time first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection Patrick Nyarko is one of three finalists along with Notre Dame's Joseph Lapira and Connecticut's O'Brian White.

In Tech's NCAA 1-0 quarterfinal win at Connecticut, Nyarko scored the only goal of the game to lead the Hokies to their first College Cup appearance in school history. The Kumasi, Ghana native finished the season with seven goals and 10 assists.
