Responsibilities: Coordinates all sports medicine needs for the Virginia Tech volleyball team.
Joined VT Athletics Staff: 2025
Prior to Virginia Tech: Prior to joining the Virginia Tech staff, she spent a season at High Point University and provided coverage for the Panthers volleyball team. During her time there, the panthers amassed an overall record of 23-7, a regular season championship, a conference tournament title, and a berth to the NCAA tournament. Her athletic training career also includes four years spent at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where she provided comprehensive care for multiple teams, including men’s and women’s basketball, cross country/track and field, soccer, tennis, and volleyball. While attending the University of Arkansas for graduate school, she worked with the Razorback swim and dive team. Additionally, in between time spent at Baylor and the University of Arkansas, she attended Colorado State University, where she assisted with the Rams' football, soccer, volleyball and men's and women's basketball teams.
Education: Baylor University (Bachelor of Science in Education), University of Arkansas (Master of Athletic Training).
Of Note: May has been a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association since 2016. She is a licensed athletic trainer by the Virginia Board of Health Professions, a certified BLS Instructor with the American Heart Association, and hold an Advanced Rehab Certification.
Personal: She is a native of Spring, Texas and currently resides in Christiansburg.
