Gunter Brewer

Director of High School Relations
Brewer has extensive experience in the ACC, SEC, Big 12, Big 10 and the NFL, coaching some of the best wide receivers to play the game including a pair of Biletnikoff Award winners in Randy Moss and Justin Blackmon, and Biletnikoff finalist Dez Bryant. He has coached in 19 bowl games and the 1996 FCS national championship game.

Brewer was the Co-Offensive Coordinator/Wide Receivers Coach at North Carolina from 2012-17, where he helped UNC earn the program’s first-ever appearance in the ACC Championship Game in 2015. He served one season as the associate head coach/passing game coordinator at Ole Miss (2011) and spent six seasons in various capacities at Oklahoma State (co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach, 2009-10; co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach, 2008; wide receivers coach, 2005-07). Brewer was the wide receivers coach and associate offensive coordinator at Marshall from 1996-99, mentoring Randy Moss to stardom.

In addition to tutoring Moss, Brewer guided Louisville’s Tutu Atwell to All-American and First Team All-ACC honors in 2019. At Oklahoma State, he recruited and served as the position coach for Blackmon, a unanimous First-Team All-American who won the Biletnikoff Award presented to the nation’s top receiver. 

As a player, Brewer was a two-year letter-winner as a wide receiver at Wake Forest, where he earned his degree in science and health sports in 1987. In 1989, he was awarded a master’s in education with a specialization in exercise physiology from Ole Miss.
