Piemonte on West: "Natalie is coming off a red-shirt freshman year after reconstructive knee surgery. She trained well all summer and is continuing with the desire of getting back to the top of her game. She displays great power and beauty in her diving and could be the biggest surprise in the ACC."

2007-08: Red-shirt season ... Did not compete during the season as she was still recovering from an injury in high school.

High School: Dove for Lake Braddock Secondary and the Patriot Dive Club ... A two-time All-American, first-team all-district and first-time all-region honoree ... Won the East National Diving Championship ... Qualified for Junior Nationals ... Participated in several other sports, including lacrosse and gymnastics ... National champion in tumbling.

Personal: Natalie West was born on Nov. 15, 1988, in Fairfax, Va. ... Daughter of Christina and Don West ... Majoring in university studies.
