2006-07: Qualified during the 2007 summer for the 2008 Olympic Trials in the 100-meter backstroke by placing 33rd at the U.S. Swimming National Championships ... Was a major contributor for Virginia Tech at the NCAA and ACC level ... Finished 36th in the 50-yard freestyle at the NCAA Championships with a career-best time of 20.09 ... Also took 20th in the 100 butterfly at the event ... Earned All-ACC honors for the second year in a row after winning three titles ... Captured his second career individual ACC championship, the 100 butterfly, with the ACC's top time of the season (47.40) ... Also helped Tech win two relay titles, the 200 and 400 free, with Hokie record times of 1:19.47 and 2:56.67 on the final legs, respectively ... Finished fifth in the 100 free and sixth in the 50 free ... Helped the 800 free and 200 medley relay teams place fourth ... Captured the 100 butterfly at the Nike Cup and Virginia Quad ... Finished the year with three separate top-10 ACC times (1st - 100 butterfly, 6th - 50 free, 7th - 100 free).
2005-06: Swam the third leg of the 800-yard free relay, earning All-America honorable mention honors with a 15th-place finish at the NCAA championships ... Also placed 31st in the 200 backstroke at the event ... Became Tech's first male swimmer to earn an individual ACC championship, placing first in the 100 butterfly and setting the ACC meet and Tech record (47.05) ... Also earned All-ACC honors by placing in the top three in the 800 free relay and 100 backstroke at the ACC championships ... Won three events at the Nike Cup: the 100 butterfly and the 100 and 200 backstroke ... Posted a school record time of 48.94 to win the 100 backstroke ... Recorded a War Memorial Pool record time of 49.55 in the same event against VMI ... During the season, recorded the ACC's top time in the 100 butterfly and the fifth-best times in the 100 and 200 backstroke.
2004-05: Swam on the third-place 400-yard medley and 800 free relay teams at the ACC championships ... Also finished third in the 100 butterfly and eighth in the 100 backstroke ... Placed 10th at the Nike Cup in the 100 butterfly.
High School: Swam for Coach David Wagner his first year of high school in California and then for Dudley Duncan ... Swam on North Coast Aquatics team his sophomore year ... Was a two-time first-team all-metro selection ... Set a state record in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.09 ... Was a senior national qualifier on his Swim Quest club team.
