Jacksonville, Fla. - Virginia Tech track & field had three females qualify for the quarterfinals in their respective events and two individuals qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.
Mariana Pestana was the first Hokie to punch her ticket to the big show, throwing the hammer for a distance of 63.52m in the hammer throw, her fifth outing of the season over 63.00m.
Ben Conacher punched his ticket to represent the pole vault squad at the championships, reaching a height of 5.33m in the event.
Star Price (800m), Lindsey Butler (1500m) and Caitlyn Bobb (400m) all qualified for the finals in their respective events, with each finishing second in their heat during the prelims. They will compete in the quarterfinals for their event on Saturday night to secure a spot in the NCAA Championships.
