Bobb, Butler qualify for NCAA National Championships during final day of East Region preliminary rounds

Bobb advances to Oregon in the 400m while Butler moves on in the 1500m.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Hokies sealed the 2025 NCAA East Region First Round with two Hokies securing their spots in the NCAA Outdoor National Championships in Eugene, Ore. from June 11-14.

Caitlyn Bobb captured a second-place finish in her heat of the 400m to secure her big Q, landing a result of 51.65.  The trip to nationals will be the second of her career, and the first since 2022.

Lindsey Butler makes her triumphant return to Oregon after punching her ticket in the 1500m for the second consecutive season, and her fourth collegiately (twice in the 800m).  Butler clinched a big Q with a fourth-place finish in her heat, landing a 4:10.32.
