BLACKSBURG – The Hokies battled it out against the sixth-ranked NC State Wolfpack, falling short 4-0, despite a doubles victory over a top-ten opponent.
The highlight of the match for the Hokies was a doubles triumph on Court No. 1 by Matt Harper and Alberto Orso, who took down the No. 8 doubles pair in the country, Braden Shick and Fons Van Sambeek, 6-2.
In a match defined by deuces, Tech kept it close but didn’t have anything to show for it, ultimately dropping in three singles matches.
The Hokies return to action next Friday, March 14 as they take on the SMU Mustangs in Dallas, Texas at 1 p.m. EST.
