LOUISVILLE, KY. – Seven Hokies have received Division I All-Region Honors, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced on Thursday afternoon. All awarded student-athletes now become eligible for the 2024 NFCA Division I All-America squads.
Emma Lemley, Emma Ritter, Addy Greene, Cori McMillan, Cameron Fagan, and Bre Peck all land on the First Team Mid-Atlantic Region. Freshman Michelle Chatfield secure Second Team Mid-Atlantic Region.
Lemley is awarded first team for the third consecutive season. The right-hander is fourth in the ACC with 151 strikeouts this year. Through 30 appearances in the ring, she had registered a 2.62 ERA and has earned 12 wins. On top of that she has two shutouts and two saves this season.
All three Hokie outfielders, Ritter, Greene, and McMillan claim spots on the first team. Ritter leads the team with a .430 batting average and one of six players in the ACC hitting above .400. She also tops the team with 77 hits and has accumulated 11 doubles, 14 home runs, and 58 runs scored. The center-fielder has not committed a single error this season and has only recorded two in her career.
Greene is also batting above .400 this season and leads the team with a .516 OBP. Additionally, leads the squad with 34 walks and 15 doubles on the year. She is fifth in the conference with a .804 SLG %.
McMillan leads the ACC and is tied seventh in the nation with 20 homers on the year. On top of that she has recorded a .881 SLG % and 60 RBI. She is perfect with 20 stolen bases on the season.
Fagan and Peck represent the infield on the first team. Fagan maintains a .373 batting average with 11 doubles, 10 home runs, and 48 RBI in her senior year. The second baseman has only committed two errors on the season with 75 assists.
Peck holds a .348 batting average with 57 hits and 13 homers on the year. The junior also has knocked in 51 runs for the Hokies.
Chatfield is placed on the second team after an exceptional freshman campaign with 19 home runs and a .736 SLG %. She is fifth in the ACC with 31 walks.
