CHARLOTTE – Virginia Tech point guard Georgia Amoore earned ACC Player of the Week honors, the conference announced Monday afternoon. For the senior, it is her first time winning the award this season and the third time in her career.

The Hokies are 16-4 (7-2) on the season following a 75-62 victory at then-No. 22 Syracuse snapping a 15-game home winning streak for the Orange. Georgia Amoore led all scorers with 29 points, including six free throws in the final two minutes to put Syracuse away. She was dominant all week, returning to the court against Georgia Tech on Thursday with a 24-point, 13-assist double-double.

Amoore is averaging 17.4 points per game and 18.6 in league play this season. She leads all ACC players with 7.1 assists per game, a mark that is third in the nation.

Tech is back home on Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum on Thursday, Feb. 1 for a 6 p.m. tip against the Virginia Cavaliers. That game can be seen on ACCN. Ticket packages are available HERE.
