With Week 2 of the NFL season officially in the books and the anticipation building for an action-packed Week 3, the spotlight is once again on former Virginia Tech football players making their mark on the professional level. The Hokie talent is on display this 2023 season, continuing the legacy from Blacksburg.

 Notable Week 2 Performances
LB Divine Deablo

Las Vegas Raiders' linebacker Divine Deablo showcased a remarkable Week 2 performance, gaining his first career sack against Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Deablo totaled 10 tackles this past weekend, with five solo tackles and two stops. Deablo's shaping up to have a successful 2023 season, receiving the highest defensive, tackle, coverage and pressure grades in his career so far.
 
TE Logan Thomas

In Washington's win against Denver, tight end Logan Thomas hauled in a 4-yard touchdown pass for his first touchdown of the season. He accumulated two receptions for 22 yards during the game, aiding the Commanders in its comeback from an 18-point deficit to a 35-33 win.
 
LB Tremaine Edmunds

Linebacker Tremaine Edmunds tallied 16 combined tackles against Tampa Bay, leading the Chicago Bears in tackles for that matchup. Edmunds doubled his Week 1 performance, matching his career high for the first time and looking to have a successful year alongside his three former Hokie teammates.
 
S Terrell Edmunds

In the former Hokie Matchup of Week 2, Philadelphia Safety Terrell Edmunds amassed six combined tackles with five solo tackles. Edmunds also secured one stop in the Eagles 34-28 victory against the Minnesota Vikings, home to former Hokie Christian Darrisaw.
 
K Joey Slye

Washington Commanders kicker Joey Slye hit a 49-yard field goal against Denver, setting a high precedent for this season. Slye put the Commanders in the lead with a 29-28 score and finishing out the game with 9 points for the Washington win.

Buffalo at Washington 1:00 p.m. ET – CBS
 
The Washington Commanders face off against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday for a must-watch former Hokie showdown. Washington is home to four former Virginia Tech players, including cornerback Kendall Fuller, kicker Joey Slye and tight end Logan Thomas. Former running back Malcolm Blacken is also with Washington, working as their Senior Director of Player Development.
 
On the other side of the ball, Buffalo defensive tackle Tim Settle will be matching up against his former teammates. Settle spent four years with Washington and will be playing his second year with the Buffalo Bills this 2023 season.
