Over the past few days, Virginia Tech Athletics had two of its women's teams have a star shine fresh off of Women's History Month this past March.

Set up for success by Sarah Gresham's 14 draw controls on Monday, setting the program's single-season draw control record, Virginia Tech lacrosse earned a 17-11 win over Furman.

Now sitting at 100 draw controls on the season, the Long Valley, New Jersey native surpassed Tristan McGinley's mark of 96 draw controls in a season set in 2018. Furthermore, the rookie owns the most draw controls by a freshman in NCAA Division I women's lacrosse.

"I think it was 100 percent a team effort," Gresham said in Monday's postgame press conference. "I couldn't have done it without everybody else. But it definitely feels really good and I'm happy right now."

Last weekend, Virginia Tech women's golf's Morgan Ketchum made some history in Greensboro, firing the lowest 54-hole score at the ACC Championship in program history (3-under 213) to place eighth upon conclusion of Friday's final round of stroke play at Sedgefield Country Club.

A native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Ketchum tied for the tournament high with 16 birdies en route to besting the previous best score at ACCs of 1-over 217 shot twice (Emily Mahar, 2022 and Becca DiNunzio, 2021). Ketchum also tied Wake Forest's Rachel Kuehn for the tournament lead in birdies.
