BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech forward Grant Basile earned Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) honors Wednesday afternoon. The graduate student, who signed a pro contract with Bertram Derthona last Friday, was named first team all-state.
Basile, an All-ACC honorable mention selection, led the Hokies in scoring at 16.4 points per game, which ranked seventh among ACC players. He racked up 354 points during conference play – third-most in the league. The 6-foot-9 forward scored double figures in 29 of Tech's 34 games, 10 times going over the 20-point plateau. He connected on 66 3-pointers, nearly doubling the tally from his last season at Wright State.
