GREENSBORO, N.C. — An ACC-high and program record six members of the Virginia Tech men's basketball team were selected to the All-ACC Academic Team as announced by the league office on Thursday.
Hunter Cattoor was honored for the third straight season, while Grant Basile, John Camden, MJ Collins, Sean Pedulla and Mylyjael Poteat are first-time honorees.
Cattoor has already earned his bachelor's degree in human development and is currently pursuing his graduate degree in instructional technology. Basile is also in Tech's graduate school, working toward a degree in agricultural and life sciences. Camden and Collins are both communication majors, Pedulla is in sports media and analytics, and Poteat is a sociology major.
Tech's six recipients tied for at least the conference lead for the third year in a row. Notre Dame and Virginia also had six. The six All-ACC Academic Team members are the most in school history, eclipsing the previous high of five (2021 and 2022) since joining the ACC.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
