 SERIES HISTORY

  • Virginia Tech is seeking its first series victory against Georgia Tech since the 2010 season. The Hokies' 2007 and 2010 ACC series wins against the Yellow Jackets – both earned in Atlanta – are the program's only two series wins that have been recorded all-time.
  • Last season in Atlanta, Tech nearly pulled out two road victories against the Yellow Jackets, despite being walked off during two of the teams' three games. On Friday, the Hokies held a 5-1 lead and rallied during the top of the ninth inning to retake the 8-7 lead, though soon succumbed to John Anderson's pinch-hit, game-winning RBI single. Two days later, Tech came back from 5-1 down to tie the finale at 5-5 during the top of the ninth inning, proceeded to score the go-ahead run during the 14th inning, but allowed two game-ending runs during the bottom half in defeat.
  • Virginia Tech trails the all-time series against Georgia Tech, 40-22.
  • Four of the Hokies' last six wins against the Yellow Jackets have been earned at English Field, dating back to the 2015 season.

UP NEXT

  • Virginia Tech will visit Radford on Tuesday, April 18. First pitch between the Hokies and the Highlanders at Sherman Carter Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 6 p.m.
  • Tickets to Virginia Tech's two remaining ACC regular season home series against North Carolina (April 28-30) and Clemson (May 12-14) are still available at all pricing options. Purchase your tickets today.
  • Fans, before making your way to English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park this season, consider reviewing the ballpark's 2023 Visitors Guide.
