CINCINNATI – Playing in the first round of the NIT Wednesday, Virginia Tech men's basketball leads fourth-seeded Cincinnati 33-29 at halftime at Fifth Third Arena.
Forward Grant Basile, who was named All-ACC honorable mention last week, lead all scorers with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting and has pulled down a team-high four rebounds.
Tech has held the Bearcats 0-for-5 from downtown and is sharing the rock at a higher clip (7-4 assists). Both teams are shooting around 43 percent from the field, but the Hokies are capitalizing on second-chance points by outscoring Cincy 12-6.
