BLACKSBURG — The Virginia Tech men's golf team will travel to Jonesborough, Tennessee to take part in the 24th annual Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, Sunday, Oct. 9 through Tuesday, Oct. 11.
Tech is coming off a 10th-place finish at the Rod Myers Invitational. Daniel Azallion recorded his first top-20 of the season, finishing 11th at 1-under 215.
Defending champion East Tennessee State will host the 54-hole tournament, comprising 15 teams, at Blackthorn Club. Three teams participating in the tournament are currently ranked in the top-50: No. 26 Georgia Southern, No. 37 Furman and No. 48 Cincinnati.
Last year, the Hokies finished the tournament in ninth place with a 12-under 852. Connor Burgess led Tech by firing a school-record, 8-under 64 in the final round to tie for ninth.
The Hokies' lineup will feature Azallion, Cameron Moore, Kobe Valociek, Drew Brockwell and Charlie Hanson. Balthazar Duclos, a freshman from Garches, France, will be making his Tech debut as an individual.
Tee times begin at 8:30 a.m. each day.
