Final weekend of regular season play ahead of Hokies

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech's regular season will come to a close this weekend, as No. 31 Georgia Tech and No. 57 Clemson are the final opponents on the Hokies' schedule ahead of next week's ACC Women's Tennis Championship.

HOKIES
Virginia Tech dropped its two matches last week against No. 3 NC State and No. 27 Wake Forest. Three Hokies picked up wins over the two contests: Charlotte Cartledge, Semra Aksu and Erika Cheng. Carteldge extended her win streak to five before falling on Sunday to Wake Forest, while Cheng and Aksu picked up straight set wins against the Demon Deacons.

YELLOW JACKETS
Georgia Tech has lost three of its last four, though all three losses have come against top-10 sides (Georgia, North Carolina and Duke). Two Yellow Jackets are ranked in singles: No. 32 Carol Lee and No. 79 Kylie Bilchev. In doubles, Georgia Tech's Lee Kate Sharabura are ranked fifth, while Bilchev and Ava Hrastar are 34th in the country.

TIGERS
Clemson fell in its two matches last weekend against Duke and North Carolina, and will face Virginia on Friday before its Sunday clash with Tech. In the latest ITA rankings, the Tigers have one ranked singles player, No. 106 Cristina Mayorova, and one ranked doubles pair, No. 70 Samantha Buyckx and Ali DeSpain.
