BLACKSBURG -- The Virginia Tech lacrosse team (7-3, 2-1) returns to Thompson Field to take on third-ranked Syracuse (6-2, 3-0) Saturday, March 19 at 1 p.m. The game will be shown on ACC Network Extra.
Tech defeated Furman 21-10 on the road Tuesday, to extend the Hokies' winning streak to five games. Freshman Olivia Vergano, who was named the ACC's Offensive Player of the Week hours prior to first draw scored a career-best eight points with six goals in the game. The midfielder also secured eight draw controls.
Graduate student Sarah Lubnow scored a hat trick of her own and had two assists to bring her career tally to 68, tying Kady McBrearty (2005-08) for the most in program history.
