Blacksburg -- The Virginia Tech lacrosse team (2-2) fell 15-14 to visiting Liberty in overtime Wednesday. The Hokies led 12-8 late in the third quarter before Liberty put together scoring runs to tie the game.
In the extra session, the Flames won the draw and scored on a goal from Mackenzie Lehman.
How It Happened
Tech scored two of the game's first three goals to take a lead in the first quarter before the Flames netted five straight, stretching into the second quarter. The Hokies regrouped and put together five goals of their own to take an 8-7 advantage into the locker room.
The Flames scored the first goal in the second half before Tech once again went on a run, scoring four straight to reach that 12-8 advantage.
Liberty got three goals from Jordan Baerga and another three from Brooke Bryan, while goalie Jennifer Soriero made eight saves.
