BLACKSBURG -- The Virginia Tech women's basketball team (12-4, 4-1) returns to Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum for a matchup against in-state rival Virginia.

Tech is out to its best start to an ACC season ever and has done so while playing mostly away from the confines of Cassell. The Hokies are the only ACC squad to play four of their first five league contests on the road. Compared to other ACC teams, Tech has played the most true road games (8) and the fewest home games (6) this season.

The Commonwealth Clash is a friendly, statewide rivalry between Virginia Tech and Virginia and their school-sponsored sports, with 22 individual event points on the line. The school that accumulates 11.5 points or more has been annually crowned the winner and takes home the Commonwealth Clash trophy, presented by Smithfield.
