NFCA Release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After a standout 2021 season on and off the field, 10 members of the Virginia Tech softball team have been named Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes, the association announced Tuesday afternoon.

Kayleigh Addington, Kelsey Brown, Grace Chavez, Maddy Federico, Molly Jacobson, Alexa Milius, Morgan Overaitis, Jenna Pearson, Emma Ritter and Darby Trull earned All-America Scholar Athlete honors after finishing the 2020-21 school year with a 3.5 GPA or higher. As a team, the Hokies ended spring 2021 with a 3.33 GPA.

The NFCA saw over 8,800 student-athletes named Scholar Athletes, the highest total in Association history and the second consecutive year (2018-19) achieving the 8,000-plus mark.

The Hokies are coming off a memorable and historic 2021 season, culminating in the program's second ever appearance in the NCAA Super Regionals. The NFCA Mid-Atlantic Staff of the Year returns the majority of their starting lineup from the 2021 squad and adds a talented group of newcomers set to make an impact during the 2021-22 season.

Tech begins fall ball this week, taking on Carson-Newman on Friday, Oct. 8 at Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va. The full fall slate can be found here.
