RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Emily Mahar and Amanda Hollandsworth represented the Virginia Tech women's golf team well in Stage I of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament, with both making the cut and advancing to Stage II following Sunday's final round on the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club.
The four-day, 54-hole tournament was contested at three sites, with the top-95 players and ties advancing to Stage II from Oct. 21-24 in Venice, Fla., on the Panther Course and Bobcat Course at Plantation Golf and Country Club.
Mahar tied for 22nd at 5-under 283 (67-69-74-73) while Hollandsworth tied for 66th at 1-over 289 (76-68-72-73). Mahar is entering her fifth season with the Hokies, looking to add to an already impressive carer that includes Tech's first-ever trip to nationals. Hollandsworth, who graduated in 2019 from Virginia Tech, is competing in her second season on the Symetra Tour - the official qualifying tour of the LPGA.
