Virginia Tech softball head coach Pete D'Amour announced the addition of graduate transfer Ally Repko on Friday. Repko will join the Hokies after a standout career at Elon.
"Ally's coming from a program that I have a lot of respect for, she'll know how to play the game," D'Amour said. "She also has a good history with some of our current players so she should fit into our team dynamic immediately."
"The first thing fans will notice about Ally on the field is she takes violent swings at the softball. She's trying to hit the ball to the moon every time up and she can hit for average. I'm thankful she decided to spend her last year playing softball for the Hokies."
As a senior in 2021, Repko was named First Team All-CAA after making the start in all 39 games, batting .340 and leading the team in home runs with nine. The slugger also had a team-high 34 RBI and a .670 slugging percentage. She finished second in the CAA in walks with 31 and added four doubles. Following her performance in the 2021 CAA Tournament, Repko was named to the All-Tournament team.
Repko also earned CAA All-Tournament honors as a sophomore and started every game that season. She tied for the team-lead in runs scored with 32 as well as doubles with 14. Repko also added eight home runs and 25 RBI. As a freshman, Repko was named to the CAA All-Rookie team after making 51 starts. She led the Phoenix with six home runs and added 23 RBI and seven doubles.
