No. 22 Hokies travel to Raleigh for ACC series against Wolfpack

BLACKSBURG – Coming off a midweek win against VMI, No. 22 Virginia Tech Baseball is looking to win another ACC series against North Carolina State starting on Friday at Doak Field at Dail Park with Friday's game being broadcasted on ACC Network Extra and Saturday and Sunday's games being broadcasted on the ACC Network.

The Hokies (21-12, 15-9 ACC) and Wolfpack (16-13, 9-12) will meet for the first time since March 31, 2018. NC State leads the all-time series 22-8 and have won four of the last five matchups.

Tech is ranked 22nd this week on the D1 Baseball Poll and ranked No. 15 on the Baseball America Poll.

ON THE CALL

The matchup on Friday will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra with Andrew Sanders (play-by-play) and Andrew Ciencin (analyst) on the call, while Saturday and Sunday will be broadcast on the ACC Network with Mike Monaco (play-by-play) and Adam Greenberg (analyst) while Bryant Johnson will broadcast on Virginia Tech Sports Network.

LAST TIME OUT

The Hokies managed a 7-5 comeback win on Tuesday against the VMI Keydets. Graham Firoved had an impressive relief outing for Tech improving to 2-0 on the year. Jaison Heard (3-2) got his second save of the season. Gavin Cross hit his 10th home run of the season and TJ Rumfield had five RBIs including the game-winning home run.

PLAYER TO WATCH

Graham Firoved has been shining for the Hokies out of the bullpen. He currently owns a 3.21 ERA and has only allowed 7 hits in 14.0 innings. The Virginia Beach native has 24 strikeouts on the year, six of those against North Carolina on March 6.
