No. 39 Hokies to host Miami

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men's tennis team will face off against No. 39 Miami inside the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.

HOKIES
Virginia Tech (5-4, 1-2) is tied with Miami at No. 39 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. Last weekend, the Hokies had some tough road competition in No. 13 Wake Forest and No. 16 NC State, dropping both matches 5-2. Despite the tough results, freshmen Ryan Fishback, Alvaro Saez-Royuela Ariza, and Hugo Maia earned wins against their opponents, along with graduate student Alex Ribeiro, who earned his first win of the season on Court 1.
 
HURRICANES
Miami (3-4, 2-1) is coming off a 7-0 defeat to No. 4 Virginia in its last outing on Friday. The Hurricanes' singles lineup consists of two ranked players: No. 34 Adria Soriana Barrera and No. 64 Stefan Milicevic. In doubles, the duo of Franco Aubone and Benjamin Hannestad is ranked No. 22. In the last meeting between the two sides in 2019, Miami was victorious, 4-3.
