BLACKSBURG – Coming off of a midweek matchup, No. 25 Virginia Tech baseball is preparing to take on Clemson this weekend at Doug Kingsmore Stadium for its second road series of the season with all games being broadcasted on ACC Network Extra.
The Hokies (9-6, 5-4 ACC) and Tigers (6-8, 1-5) will meet for the first time since 2019. Clemson leads the overall series 47-24-2 while Tech is 7-27 in Clemson.
Tech is heading into the weekend with two ACC series wins this season. The Hokies are also ranked No. 25 heading into the weekend on the D1 Baseball poll and No. 13 on the Baseball America poll.

The matchup will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra, with Ron Smith (play-by-play) and Pete Yanity (analyst) on the call Friday, Marty Clary (play-by-play) and Nathan McCreary (analyst) on Saturday and Clary (play-by-play) and Yanity (analyst) on the call Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Hokies struggled against midweek opponent UNC Greensboro (11-5) on Tuesday. The Spartans scored a run in the top of the first. Tech tied the game in the bottom of the third on a double from Lucas Donlon. UNC Greensboro rallied in the top of the sixth scoring four runs taking a 5-1 lead. The Hokies scored another run on a double from Cade Swisher but failed to catch the Spartans.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Freshman Matthew Siverling has been dominant for the Hokies and has established himself as a go-to guy out of the bullpen. The lefty has pitched 12.2 innings this season in seven games. He has struck out 15 batters and has only allowed three earned runs. He had a career-high six strikeouts against Miami in Game 1 and has only allowed runs in three out of seven appearances.
