BLACKSBURG – Coming off of its first lost series in league play, No. 25 Virginia Tech baseball is set to play a midweek game against UNC Greensboro on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park with the game being broadcasted on ACC Network Extra.
The Hokies (9-5, 5-4 ACC) and Spartans (10-5, 0-0 SoCon) will meet for the first time since Feb. 15, 2020. Tech leads the all-time series 6-2 and have won two out of three games.
Tech is heading into the week with two ACC series wins and are currently ranked No. 25 on the D1 Baseball poll and No. 13 on the Baseball America Poll.

The matchup will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra, with Kevin DiDomenico (play-by-play) and Evan Hughes (analyst) on the call, while Bryant Johnson will broadcast on Virginia Tech Sports Network.

LAST TIME OUT
The Hokies lost their first ACC series of the season over the weekend to Florida State 2-1. Tech struggled in Game 1 but bounced back with a huge shutout win on Saturday behind Chris Gerard. The sophomore pitched 7.0 innings and reached 100 career strikeouts with 8 against the Seminoles.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Carson Jones has started to shine for the Hokies this season as of late. The freshman had two doubles in Game 3 against Florida State and is batting .556 with nine at bats. He currently has three RBIs in six games.
