WHAT WE'RE WATCHING FOR
The start of ACC play

Tech enters the conference play with heightened expectations after a T-4 finish in 2019-20 and a projected seventh place finish this season according to the league's head coaches. After a 5-0 start with fantastic performances from both All-Conference players, center Elizabeth Kitley and Aisha Sheppard, the Hokies are looking to get the ACC campaign off to a winning start, something they have not done since 2016-17 in Coach Brooks' first season in Blacksburg.

After the Pitt game, the Hokies have an open date before resuming play Thursday December 17 at Notre Dame.

Can Elizabeth Kitley continue her good form?

Kitley has been on a tear so far this season averaging 18.8 points and 13.4 rebounds. She's shooting 70% from the field and has recorded a 30-point game and two 17-rebound games already this season. The Summerfield, North Carolina native leads the nation with five double-doubles.

Nine Hokies have ACC game experience

Seven of those, got their minutes at Virginia Tech (D'asia Gregg began her career at Georgia Tech and Azana Baines transferred from Duke) but besides Kitley and Sheppard, none have started a league contest for Kenny Brooks before.
