CLEVELAND – Virginia Tech men's and women's swim teams claimed four titles on Thursday at the 2020 CSCAA National Invitational Championships in Cleveland, Ohio.
Freshman Brooke Travis claimed the first title of the evening, winning the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:47.40 to improve upon her season-best top-10 Tech time. Sophomore Loulou Vos finished fifth (4:51.36) while freshman Morgan Miller took 10th (4:59.28).
On the men's side, sophomore Brennen Doss claimed the crown with a 4:21.85. Fellow sophomore Keith Myburgh came in fifth with a 4:28.57.
Freshman Forest Webb won the 50 back with a 21.62 and sophomore Dylan Eichberg claimed the title in the 200 IM, turning in a season-best 1:45.15 to improve his Hokies' top-10 program time.
In the 50 free, freshman Will Koeppen finished 11th (20.27). A pair of freshmen made the finals in the 50 breast with Julia Smith finishing 20th (30.06) for the women and Cobi Lopez Miro taking 17th (25.91) on the men's side.
The remaining two days of the CSCAA National Invitational Championships have been cancelled due to concerns regarding the widespread health risks of COVID-19.
This concludes the season for the Hokies in accordance with news that broke across the NCAA today as the national office cancelled all winter and spring sport championships.
