Moravek takes fifth in 1-meter at ACC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore Teagan Moravek finished fifth in 1-meter diving on Wednesday evening at the 2020 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships.
 
Moravek qualified for the finals after finishing third in the prelims with a score of 284.05. In the finals, Moravek came back to score a 286.10 to finish fifth overall for the Hokies.
 
Tech also put up a program top-five time in the 200 medley relay while finishing eighth. Alex Slayton, Joelle Vereb, Kayla Purcell and Anna Landon teamed up to finish with a 1:38.34 to move into fourth on the Hokies top-times list in the event.
 
The Hokies also placed eighth in the 800 free relay as Loulou Vos, Sarah Shackelford, Brooke Travis and Rose Pouch finished with a time of 7:13.39.
 
For men's diving, Noah Zawadzki was the top finisher, placing 10th in the prelims of the 3-meter with a score of 306.70. Joseph Perreault was 15th in the event with 293.10.
 
Tech will be back in the pool on Thursday morning for prelims beginning at 10 a.m. with the 500 freestyle. Other events for tomorrow are the 200 IM, 50 free, 200 free relay as well as the women's 3-meter and men's 1-meter.
