Annual trip to East Tennessee up next for the Hokies

BLACKSBURG – The Hokies are back on the road this weekend as they make their annual trip to East Tennessee to participate in the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. The three-day tournament will be played at the par 72, 7,147-yard Blackthorn Club at the Ridges in Jonesborough, Tennessee.

BANK OF TENNESSEE INTERCOLLEGIATE
This 15-team event is an annual stop for the Hokies' schedule. Tech won the tournament in 2007. The Hokies finished in fifth place in last year's tournament, while Connor Johnson Jr., finished tied for sixth overall and Slade Pickering finished tied for ninth. This year's tournament, hosted by East Tennessee State, will consist of 18 holes of competition each day starting on Friday and a Thursday practice round.
 
Tech is one of four ACC schools competing this weekend. No. 12 Louisville is the top ranked team in the event and seven teams in the tournament have won the event during its 21 previous years of play.

The players competing for the Hokies are:

Starting Lineup: Mark Lawrence Jr., redshirt senior, Richmond, Virginia; Connor Burgess, junior, Lynchburg, Virginia; Cameron Moore, sophomore, Richmond, Virginia, Connor Johnson Jr., sophomore, Richmond, Virginia and Daniel Azallion, freshman, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
 
Individual: Drew Brockwell, sophomore, Chesterfield, Virgina.
