BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men's tennis team claimed two wins on Friday afternoon. Tech began the day with a 4-0 win over Brown before knocking off JMU 4-0 at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
The Bears got the doubles match on court two, but the Hokies secured the point in tiebreaks on courts one and three. Carlo Donato and Henrik Korsgaard paired up at one to defeat Roger Chou and Peter Litsky (7-6(1) while Jason Kros and Brandon Perez had the 7-6(7) win over Charles Tan and Robert Siniakowicz.
In singles, the Hokies went up 2-0 as No. 55 Kros knocked off Litsky, 6-2, 6-1. Evan Fragistas followed up with the 6-1, 6-4 win over Siniakowicz at the six to put Tech on top 3-0.
The match was clinched on court three where Korsgaard downed Chou 6-4, 7-5.

In the second match of the day, the Hokies again got out to the early lead, claiming the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. Korsgaard and Donato paired up for the 6-2 win at one while Kros and Perez also claimed the win with a 6-2 score.
The second match in singles played out in similar fashion with Kros securing the first point, this time against JMU's Pierre Kohler 6-2, 6-2. Carlo Donato gave the Hokies the 3-0 lead with a 6-4, 6-2 decision over Paul Mendoza on three.
In the evening match, Fragistas clinched the match winner, knocking off Gonzalo Adis 7-5, 6-1.
The Hokies will be back on the court at home tomorrow for another doubleheader. Tech will host St. Bonaventure at 1 p.m. followed by Davidson in a 5 p.m. match.
