The Virginia Tech women's basketball team (13-4, 0-4) will head south to Raleigh to face No. 8 NC State Sunday afternoon from Reynolds Arena. Tip is set for 12:30 and will be shown on RSN. The game is Tech's first nationally televised contest of the season, airing on Regional Sports Networks. Fans in the New River Valley should tune to Fox Sports South.
Tech is in search of a marquee league win, facing their third ranked opponent of the season. After a narrow overtime loss to Syracuse, the Hokies tussled with top-ranked Notre Dame Wednesday night. The Hokies started hot, leading the game 11-2 and carried a lead into the second quarter before the Irish went on a run to seize control.
Taylor Emery continues to lead Tech's attack, leading the squad in scoring in every ACC game and averaging 22 per contest in the league, a mark that is first in the conference. Emery, perhaps the program's most prolific scorer in history is poised to break 1,000 career points. The senior, has spent the last two seasons in Blacksburg stands at 985, just 15 shy of the mark. Only one other player in Virginia Tech's history has scored 1,000 in a two-year span.
