Virginia Tech opens 2019 after a solid fall season in which several Hokies competed at ITA national events. With wins over high-ranked foes during the fall, Mitch Harper and Jason Kros enter the spring ranked in the top-30. Harper enters at 26th while Kros is 30th in the preseason standings. Henrik Korsgaard joins the two in the rankings at No. 118.

The Hokies are also ranked in doubles with Harper along with Carlo Donato coming in at 42nd. Korsgaard and teammate Alex Ribeiro are 43rd entering into the spring.

Tech also added newcomer Brandon Perez to the roster this January. The freshman is a member of the Venezuela Davis Cup team and is the top-ranked junior. He has ranked as high as No. 124 in the ITF Junior Rankings and qualified for the Australian Junior Grand Slam in 2018.

This marks the first match of the season for both Boston University and College of Charleston as well. It is the first meeting between the Hokies and the Terriers, but Tech is 3-0 all-time versus the Cougars.

UP NEXT: The Hokies will host the Virginia Tech Invite Jan. 19-21 as athletes from Penn State, MTSU and William & Mary join the Hokies at Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center for the three-day event.
