Hokies set for Monday night clash with Chattanooga

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women's basketball team readies itself for a Monday night tip against the visiting Chattanooga Mocs. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen on ACC Network Extra.
 
The Hokies are 4-0 on the season, most recently defeating Monmouth 82-49 Friday night.

THE MATCHUP WITH CHATTANOOGA
The Hokies and Mocs are set to meet for the fifth time in series history. Last season, in the first meeting since 1994, the Hokies went into Chattanooga and came away with a 64-44 victory. 
 
Regan Magarity recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds and Kendyl Brooks had 14 points to lead the Hokies to a road victory.
 
The Mocs (2-1) are led in scoring by Lakelyn Bouldin and Eboni Williams, who each average 9.7 per contest. In their last game at Hampton, Chattanooga grinded out a 58-50 victory Friday evening. 
 
In their second game of the season, the Mocs played host to ACC foe Louisville, falling 75-49.
 
NOTABLE
The Hokies have the number one defense (51.0 ppg) and best scoring margin (31.0) in the conference after the first two weeks of action.
 
Magarity is leading the ACC in rebounding, averaging 13.8 per contest. She is the only player with four games with 10-plus boards. 
 
Freshman guard Dara Mabrey is seventh in the ACC in scoring, averaging 17.3 points per game. Last time out against Monmouth she led the Hokies with 26 points. She is shooting 62 percent from the field. 
 
NEXT GAME:Tech will head south to Orlando, Florida to participate in the UCF Thanksgiving Classic. The Hokies will tip against Villanova on Saturday, Nov. 24 at noon and Sunday will face the Richmond Spiders at 11 a.m.
